"Let your voice go, let it pierce through your soul."
Lyrics from Sing To The Mountain by Elephant Revival
"A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood.” ~Rachel Carson
· · On a whim, my daughter and I decided to check out a beach along the St. Croix River, not far from our house. This particular day was not a typical beach day. The wind was stiff, the temperatures cool, but sunny nonetheless. To a child, it just doesn't matter. Reese started by dipping her toes in and gradually went far enough in that the water rose past her chest, clothes on. She squealed with joy and immersed herself in the moment. She begged and begged me to join her but in my mind the conditions were far from perfect. · · Perfect for what?? What was I waiting for? Why did I feel it had to be a 'perfect' summer day before I could dip in the water and be fully present and joyful with my daughter? Reese pleaded with me again and I was quickly reminded of my commitment this year to laugh more and not take life so seriously. I took my shoes and socks off, rolled my pants up, and went for it. · · Together, we laughed as the cool waves crashed into us. We splashed one another and embraced a special and memorable moment. A moment I would have surely missed out on if I had waited for the perfect weather, the perfect moment. We drove home dripping wet, with no towels, feet covered in sand, and our hearts filled to the brim. · · "Stop waiting for the perfect day or the perfect moment....Take THIS day, THIS moment and lead it to perfection." ~ Dr. Steve Maraboli · · Live in awe of the beauty of life, the Earth, the sky, the stars and the moon. Learn from our children who remind us so innocently to live in the moment, laugh, and be joyful. Embrace the not so perfect moments and instead make memories you can cherish forever. The choice is truly yours. · "Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them." ~Dr. Seuss #soulinspiredjourney #presentmoment #bepresent#bestill #gratitude #enjoyyourjourney#trustyourjourney #laugh #surrender #explore#wander #wonder #awakening #shineyourlight #love
